2020 will be the 21st season of NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) competition for the 2004 Series Champion and the second year with Chip Ganassi Racing. To-date, he has more than 680 career starts in the NCS. Busch has made 13 appearances in the NASCAR Playoffs including seven consecutive appearances, having finished the 2019 campaign 13th in the series final standings.

In 2019 Kurt Busch made the move to Chip Ganassi Racing to become the driver of the No. 1 Monster Energy Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the NCS. During his racing career, Busch has more than 700 starts in NASCAR’s top three divisions, NCS, NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) and the NASCAR RV & Gander Outdoors Truck Series (NRGOTS). 

Busch’s driving accomplishments are among the best in the sport. With 27 poles and 31 NCS victories, he has won poles and races on every type of track on the NASCAR schedule. Additionally he has won in every NASCAR series in which he has competed during his career. In addition to being the 2004 MENCS Champion, he also has marquee wins in the NASCAR All-Star race, Coca-Cola 600 (2010) and the Daytona 500 (2017). He has also won championships in the International Race of Champions (2003) and the NASCAR Southwest Series (1999). Outside of his NASCAR successes, Busch has also made two starts in the Rolex 24 At Daytona (2005,2008) and one start in the Indianapolis 500 (2014) where he finished sixth and was named the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year.

Thirty-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) winner Kurt Busch has partnered with Vet Tix Foundation and donated 100 tickets to all 36 MENCS races to military members in 2019. 

Busch, the 2017 DAYTONA 500 and the 2004 series Champion, said, “I am appreciative of the sacrifice and commitment of our military service members and families.”

The driver of the No. 1 Monster Energy Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Chip Ganassi Racing stated, “Family is what NASCAR is all about and I hope this experience at the track will be an enjoyable and fun filled event!”

Vet Tix is a national 501 (C)(3)which has provided over 6 million free event tickets to more than one million members. The nonprofit organization spends over 95 percent back to its programs, giving back to those who have given so much. Fans can visit VetTix.org or 1stTix.org to learn more.
